RevitaLens OcuTec® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution
Cleans, Rinses, Disinfects, Removes Protein, Stores and Conditions soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses, including silicone hydrogel lenses - All Steps in One Bottle.

LENS CARE DIRECTIONS
Rinse for Lens-Wearing Comfort
When you insert your lenses:
1. Wash your hands with soap and water and dry with a lint-free towel prior to
handling your lenses.
2. Prior to re-applying lenses, RINSE each side of the lens for 5 seconds with fresh RevitaLens OcuTec® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution to remove any debris on the lens.

RUB, RINSE and SOAK for Effective Cleaning and Disinfection
When you remove your lenses:
1. Wash your hands with soap and water and dry with a lint-free towel prior to
handling your lenses.
2. Place 3 or more drops of RevitaLens OcuTec® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution on one side of the lens surface.
3. RUB your lens gently from center to the edges for 2 - 4 seconds (never rub in a circular motion; this may tear the lens and not clean the outer edge surface).
4. Turn the lens over and repeat Steps 2 and 3.
5. RINSE each side of the lens for 5 seconds with fresh RevitaLens OcuTec® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution. Place the lens in a clean AMO Brand lens case and fill with RevitaLens OcuTec® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution. Close the RevitaLens OcuTec® lens case caps tightly.
6. SOAK - Allow lenses to soak for a minimum of six (6) hours for disinfection,
cleaning, protein removal and conditioning.

EXTRA CLEANING AND COMFORT
Based on your individual tear chemistry and lens replacement schedule, your doctor may recommend additional care procedures. This may be particularly important if lenses are kept longer than 90 days.

LENS STORAGE
You may leave your lenses in the unopened lens case containing RevitaLens OcuTec® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution for up to 30 days continuously. If stored longer than 30 days, your lenses must be cleaned and disinfected again with fresh solution prior to wear.

PROTEIN REMOVAL FROM YOUR CONTACT LENSES
RevitaLens OcuTec® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution removes protein while your lenses are soaking in the RevitaLens OcuTec® lens case. Daily use of RevitaLens OcuTec® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution eliminates the need for a separate enzymatic cleaner for many lens wearers—check with your eye care practitioner.

DESCRIPTION
RevitaLens OcuTec® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution is a sterile, buffered aqueous solution with alexidine dihydrochloride 0.00016% and polyquaternium-1 0.00030% as preservatives / disinfectants, boric acid, sodium borate decahydrate, TETRONIC* 904, edetate disodium, trisodium citrate dihydrate, sodium chloride, and purified water.

ACTIONS
RevitaLens OcuTec® Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution is formulated with dual-disinfection technology designed specifically for soft contact lenses, including silicone hydrogel lenses. Dual disinfectants and a surfactant deliver robust cleaning and effective disinfection. While the lens is soaking, the surfactant loosens and removes the protein and other deposits that commonly accumulate during lens wear. Dual disinfectants work to destroy microbes on the surface of the lens and provide safe contact lens storage up to 30-days. This formulation increases ocular comfort for wearers of the most common
soft contact lens materials and conditions the lenses.

Less toxic on Patients' eyes

RevitaLens OcuTec® MPDS is less cytotoxic than OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS11,2

OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS and OPTI-FREE® Express® MPDS demonstrated the highest human corneal epithelial cell cytotoxicity with grades 3-4. RevitaLens OcuTec® MPDS showed less cytotoxicity with grades 0-2 for all soft contact lens combinations (Figure 1).1.

RevitLens OcuTec® MPDS Maintains better cell viability and barrier function than OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS1

OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS and OPTI-FREE® Express® MPDS induced significant loss of cell viability at 30min (see figure below). Soft contact lenses, including SiHy lenses, are least compatible with OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS. RevitaLens OcuTec® MPDS did not induce significant loss of cell viability compared to the media and PBS controls.

New Solution, New Contact Lens, New Lens Case

  • When you switch to a new brand of contact lens solution, it is important to switch with a fresh set of contact lenses.

  • Always use a new lens case when switching to a new contact lens solution and never re-use solution – always use fresh solution daily.

Combining old and new solutions diminishes the effectiveness of the disinfection solution. "Used" solution may contain invisible remains of live bacteria and/or fungi.

  • When opening a new contact lens package to remove fresh contact lenses, make sure you rinse each side of the lens with fresh contact lens solution before applying to your eye.

  • If the lens is in any way damaged, DO NOT put the lens back on your eye. Place the lens in the AMO lens case and contact your eye care practitioner.
  • If the lens has dirt, an eyelash, or other foreign body, or the problem stops and the lens appears undamaged, thoroughly clean, rinse, and disinfect the lens, then reinsert it.
  • If the problem continues, IMMEDIATELY remove the lens and consult your eye care practitioner.

If any of the above symptoms occur, a serious condition such as infection, corneal ulcer, neovascularization or iritis may be present. Seek immediate professional identification of the problem and prompt treatment to avoid serious eye damage.
